Carolyn provides job-embedded, virtual and in-person professional development, tailored to community needs, across the United States. Learning opportunities are designed collaboratively with clients and are responsive to district needs, based in part on student data.

GUIDE THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENATION
OF THE RISE TUTORING PROGRAM 

Collaborate with Carolyn to:

  • Design a school or district level visionary plan for the implementation of intensive, data focused tutoring

  • Schedule RISE and RISE Up Professional Development

  • Provide ongoing coaching for RISE Tutors

  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders (district leadership, administration, reading teachers, coaches, teachers, tutors and families) 

  • Implement the cohesive thread of literacy instruction from the classroom to intervention to tutoring using RISE and RISE Up based on Jan Richardson’s Next Step Forward theory and framework

DELIVER PRESENTATIONS

Provide customized presentations, face-to-face or virtual, focused on selected topics. Attendees engage in lesson demonstrations and/or view video footage of lessons in action; they participate in collaborative conversations.

IMPLEMENT LESSON DEMONSTRATIONS

Walk through pre-lesson planning, based on student data, deliver live or virtual lessons for diverse learners; facilitate post-lesson debriefing.

LEAD INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING

Offer guidance on how to support teaching staff in the design, delivery and reflection on scaffolded literacy instruction.

Prepares trainers, in part through modeling, for the delivery of professional development.

Work with students one-on-one to promote acceleration.
